Very good presentation here. It really provides any delegate who goes up to the hill with the base knowledge of how to act and what to expect during their visit. Another job well done by our fine DAV staff.

Sending letters to schedule meetings with Congressional Offices is one way. However,I have found the best method is: (1) Call the Congressional Office, (2) find out who is the Legislative Director/Legislative Assistant for Veterans Affairs; (3) find out the email address of the Legislative Director/Legislative Assistant for Veterans Affairs; and(4) send an email asking for a meeting with the Representative or the Legislative Director/Legislative Assistant for Veterans Affairs. Follow up with an email on a weekly basis until a meeting is established. I have found the best time to start the process is the second week of January. The Department BPTL should be responsible for setting up all the meetings with Congressional Offices.
